Visa on Arrival (VOA)การตรวจลงตรา ณ ช่องทางอนุญาตของด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง

Advice onlyStraightforward

A short tourist visa issued at the immigration counter on arrival to nationals of a limited list of countries not covered by visa exemption. It costs 2,000 THB, grants a 15-day stay for tourism only, and is paid in cash at the border. There is nothing for us to apply on your behalf.

Duration
Stay of 15 days (including arrival and departure days). Single entry; leaving Thailand ends the stay.
Extensions
Treat VOA as a hard 15-day stay — extension availability is inconsistent across sources and is best assumed unavailable. Verify with Thai Immigration at the time if you need it.
Financial requirement
Proof of funds of 10,000 THB per person / 20,000 THB per family may be required (any currency, shown in cash if asked) — as of 2026-05-24.
Fees
VOA fee 2,000 THB per person, paid in cash (Thai Baht) at the immigration counter, non-refundable. TDAC: free.
Processing time
Issued same-day at the immigration counter on arrival (queues at major airports can be long). Available at designated international airports and major land crossings.

Who it’s for

  • Tourists from a country on Thailand’s VOA list (not the visa-exemption list)
  • Short visits of up to 15 days
  • People who did not obtain a visa in advance and whose nationality qualifies for VOA
  • Not for work, study, business or long stays

Key documents

  • Passport (valid; 6 months recommended, 30 days minimum per some sources)
  • Completed VOA application form (at the counter)
  • One recent passport-style photo (commonly 4×6 cm)
  • Confirmed onward/return ticket departing within 15 days
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
  • Completed TDAC (free, online, within 72 hours of arrival)

Staying compliant

  • TDAC required before arrival (free, online, within 72 hours; mandatory since 1 May 2025)
  • TM.30 address notification by the accommodation host applies
  • 90-day reporting does not apply (15-day stay)
  • Overstay penalised (500 THB/day, capped; bans for longer overstays)

Recent changes

  • 15 July 2024: the VOA-eligible list was expanded from 19 to 31 countries/territories.
  • 1 May 2025: mandatory TDAC for all arrivals, including VOA.
  • 19 May 2026: as part of the Cabinet’s visa-policy revision, VOA is to be reduced to 4 countries/territories. The exact final four are unconfirmed (some reporting names Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia and India). It takes effect 15 days after Royal Gazette publication, which had NOT occurred as of 24 May 2026 — verify your eligibility before travel.

Common pitfalls

  • Assuming you qualify — the VOA list is short and shrinking; verify your nationality’s current status before flying
  • No onward ticket within 15 days, or no cash for the 2,000 THB fee (cash only)
  • No TDAC submitted before arrival
  • Expecting to extend a 15-day VOA stay — plan to leave on time
  • Overstaying because the 15 days includes arrival and departure dates
